Join our Preventive Maintenance program to ensure all equipment is properly maintained to prevent failures and downtime. This also increases the life of each component in the system.
Air-cooled Crypto mining is the traditional and simple method of managing the heating and cooling of crypto mining rigs with ventilation fans and ordinary atmospheric air.
Immersion cooling, also called liquid submersion cooling, submerges mining rigs and AI servers in a thermally conductive liquid bath, typically dielectric oil. The heat generated by the rigs is transferred to the dielectric oil, which dissipates the heat away from the equipment.
Closed-loop water cooling circulates coolant, typically water and glycol, through a water block or cooling plate, transferring heat away from the hashboards and CPUs. Cooling the chips right where the heat is generated results in higher performance and unmatched temperature consistency.
Water Cooled Miners from the manufacturer incorporate Closed Loop Water Block Cooling into the Miner and AI server itself.
Most Crypto and AI systems have some form of air filtering to reduce particulates in the open air. Cleaning or changing air filters should be done on a regular basis to ensure a clean environment for the machines. We highly recommend using metal washable air filters. See our Product section for more information.
Fluid based systems (Water, Glycol, Dielectric Oil, etc.) also need some form of filtering to reduce particles and contaminates from the fluid. Most fluid based systems do not incorporate filtering into the fluid circulation. We have designed a fluid filter system to perform the cleaning action and in most cases the miners and servers can continue running while the filtering takes place.
All fluid cooling methods have specific amounts of fluid in the system. This ensures the system will run at optimum efficiency and allows the fluid cooling process to work effectively. Fluid levels should be monitored regularly and documented. Low fluid levels will damage the pump and cause undue stress on the entire system.
Fans are constantly moving air and will inevitably collect dirt and debris on the fan cage and blades. They should be cleaned according to the manufacturer on a regular basis and put back into operation. This will keep the cooling process working at the designed specifications.
Pumps are mechanical in design and need very little regular maintenance. The best P.M. approach is to monitor sound, temperature, vibration and take electrical measurements. Each pump has a predefined electrical current rating that can be measured while the pump is running under normal conditions.
Electrical maintenance consists of observing all electrical connections for signs of heat and component degradation. Any electrical component that is found to have possible problems should be inspected and measurements taken and documented. If necessary, replaced.
Systems with Dry Coolers have radiators, and they can collect a lot of dirt and debris. This will degrade the cooling capacity of the dry cooler assembly. Fans and Radiators should be cleaned regularly to ensure proper cooling of the crypto miners and AI machines.
Removing unwanted particles from the air in a crypto mining and AI computing environment is mandatory to ensure maximum uptime and continued revenue generation.
Air Cooled mining uses open air to cool the miners which can be very dirty and contaminated with small particles. Liquid cooling (water, glycol, dielectric oil) also requires air filtration in the building or container where the liquid cooled systems are located which can be inside or outside.
We recommend using metal air filters that can be washed and reused. Metal air filters hold their shape and form much better than paper air filters, especially in a humid environment. We have seen many times where paper air filters distort and lose their form after a rain storm resulting in little to no filtering of the air entering the crypto mining and AI computing environment. The end result is degradation of the miners, servers, fans, pumps and electrical components in the system and the need to filter fluids if applicable.
Air filter maintenance should be a regularly scheduled event in your preventive maintenance procedures.
We can accommodate any size, from small to large. We can source standard sizes and have custom sizes made to order. Be sure to order spares to help cycle through the cleaning process and not leave equipment exposed.
Removing unwanted particles from the dielectric oil in a crypto mining or AI environment is mandatory to ensure maximum uptime and continued revenue generation. The dielectric fluid is designed to insulate from electrical arcing, have no degrading reaction to the miner and other components and carry heat away from the miners and components. There are many different formulations to meet the desired specifications of each immersion system.
Common immersion cooling systems use a dielectric fluid circulating through a Dry Cooler assembly to cool the miners which can get very dirty and contaminated with small particles. Dirt and other contaminates get into the dielectric oil and need to be removed. There are also times when a pump or other component in the system has a failure and injects metal fragments and other contaminates that can wreak havoc on the miners and pumps. New machines will also inject thermal paste and other contaminates into the fluid and needs to be removed.
One added bonus to filtering the dielectric fluid is the capability to get more life out of the fluid which saves money and decreases downtime.
We recommend filtering the dielectric oil on a regular basis to keep the fluid clean and polished. This assures the removal of heat from the miners as effectively as possible. The end result is more efficient operation and less power draw on the overall system.
We have created a mobile system that can clean Dielectric Oil and return it to full use. Here are specs for the product.
This portable filter system can run while the miners are generating revenue !
We can help design and implement the ability to control power (single and 3-phase) to any device in your Crypto Mining and AI computing system. You already have the ability to control power to your machines, now you can also control and monitor power to other components like pumps, valves and fans. This enables the ability to achieve full power up and power down of your sites without the need to be onsite. This can be critical if storms are approaching, or a power related issue requires immediate action. The remote devices can connect to Ethernet using Wired or WiFi and has scheduling capabilities with power monitoring and limited automation.
Let us help automate your site(s) and free up resources that can be dedicated to crypto mining and AI revenue generation. Automation and Remote Control are key components of any successful computer operation. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.
